EU VAT guide
VIES name and address results
A valid VIES response can include a registered name and address when the member state makes that data available.
Why fields differ by country
VIES relays data from national VAT databases, and member states decide which details are returned.
Some valid VAT checks may confirm the number but provide limited or no name and address data.
How to use the result
Compare any returned name and address with your customer records, but do not treat missing fields as proof of fraud.
For high-risk invoices, ask the customer for supporting information or consult the relevant tax administration.
