EL vs GR
Greece is commonly represented by GR in many country-code contexts, but VIES uses EL for Greek VAT validation.
If you paste a Greek VAT ID, make sure the selected checker country is EL.
Format mistakes
Remove spaces and punctuation before checking the number, and avoid entering the country prefix twice.
A correctly formatted Greek VAT number still needs a live VIES response before it can be treated as validated.
